RCBC at the South Australian Wooden Boat Festival (28 - 30 April 2023) With more than 100 boats registered, the Festival attracted approximately 8,000 visitors over 2 days. The weather was kind and there was plenty to see. It was a great opportunity for the RCBC to raise our profile and hopefully, recruit some new members. We developed some new promotional materials specifically for the occasion and these can be re-used on other occasions. The Club now has two pull-up banners that stand 2m high and a collection of 20 A3 photographs illustrating our many events. A popular raffle based on hand-crafted items was well-patronised. Members sold handicrafts and donated items to add interest to the marquee. A member put together bunting comprised of every burgee since our first events, an excellent demonstration of the diversity and extent of our history. We distributed a large number of our business cards and membership forms as well as promoting our website. Our next event, the Mini-Run from Morgan to Big Bend was advertised and we had the opportunity to describe the types of events the RCBC specialises in. As it has always been, the emphasis was on camping, cruising and family-friendly boating. Event Managers: Joanne and Lindsay Dent.
