The June 2020 Mini-Run - How Did It Go?

MINI RUN LOXTON TO RENMARK - FRIDAY 12 TO MONDAY 15 JUNE 2020
Watch out for our next RCBC Newsletter for a more detailed account of this very successful return to RCBC boating, but in the meantime, here are a few notes and photos. - 9 boats, including 1 tinny, 1 houseboat, 2 trailer sailers and 5 cruisers - 19 participants - mostly excellent weather, especially in the pre-event cruise sections - 3 boats cruised down from Renmark (Wednesday to Friday) - 3 boats cruised up from Kingston on Murray/Cobdogla - 3 boats launched at Loxton - a couple of nights near zero degrees C; only one afternoon of rain and we still got the fire alight, kept it going and then sat dry and warm for the evening of cooking and conversation - dinners at the Loxton (before) and Renmark (after) Clubs - outstanding campsites at Whirlpool Bend and Pike River - Committee met on Tuesday morning, mostly to plan the River Run in September/October.
The Boats: A Little Tinny, Faraway, Cloud Nine and Wetlands Explorer IV, Fi Fi V, Ember, Ember and friends, Chasing Rainbows, Osprey, Chasing Rainbows and friends, Dolphin Tinny, Osprey and Wetlands Explorer IV, Faraway (by Lindsay Dent); Lady J (by Peter Hunter).
