DINGHY DAWDLE - PORT ADELAIDE 15-19 March 2021This was a multi-day event for tinnies and small or trailerable boats was organized by Peter Hunter. Budget accommodation was available at the Girl Guides Association base GTS Dolphin and boats were moored at the nearby Port Adelaide Sailing Club. The weather was good and the accommodation for both humans and boats was excellent. A cruise to the inner port area, with visits to antique shops and a local chandlery was appreciated. The old quarantine station was accessed by boat, but more careful attention to the tide would be advisable on the next visit! Other trips included cruises to the outer harbour and St. Kilda, the latter via the back of Torrens Island. The Metropolitan Fire Service boat threw a wake that surprised many. It was a pleasure to see the port at work, with tugs manoeuvering big ships and a mixture of other vessels going about their business.
